Summary
Can't say enough about the welcoming staff at Falcon Ridge. They helped us with all our needs. Big additions at today's event were our Kevin Haime Junior Slammer Tour signs and our 4 foot by 12 foot banner - you gotta love the orange, and Stevie Ray's graphic talents! And our tour players loved the photo ops that were available. So what happened on the course? Well, with just a moment of threatening skies and rain, we had another spectacular event and another day at the pound (as in dog pound) - the DAWG himself barked the loudest but not to be outdone, Lil' Bulldog let out more than a few howls. Bamboo, not to be outdone, used her feline finess to stay close to the "strays" while Girl Power rattled off lyrics about "girls" and "fun" that would have made Cyndi Lauper proud.

Doggonit, didn't the Dawg return after a one week diversion playing on the Greensmere junior intersectional team, and pick up where he left off at the Metcalfe event. He goes perfect on the day with a 3-0-0 record, collects another dog on the incredibly difficult 195 yd 16th, gets his first tour birdie, collects another 4 skins and adds 19 - yep, I said it - 19 points to his total. He's going to have the teaching pros at Kevin Haime's golf school wondering why he's coming for another 1st star lesson. |

Our points leader wasn't going to be outdone if he could help it. The Lil' Bulldog growled and pawed his way every chance he had through this grueling test of a golf course. He add 3 pars to his total with 4 skins and ZERO 3 putts. He set out to be more focused today and was happy with the results. |

Third star was selected because of another "dog pound-related" achievement. Who got his first dog on the tricky little 14th hole - none other than Girl Power. Like a carpenter, the kids "measured" twice before cutting Girl Power some slack and the dog. He set out to hit the fairway more and putt better. When interviewed by TSN afterward, he admitted "the first goal, not so much, but I had ZERO three putts today" |
