  • Second milestone of the week?… Cuba becomes the 25th Slammer to play in his 200th event, he says. Grumpy goes along but read Saturday’s summary.
  • Practising for the FGC challenge tomorrow, many of the golfers tried to have a beer per hole.
  • SunShine’s sand shot on the first par three (hole 5) of the day had to be seen to be believed. The ball is on the up wall. She gives it a good whack, but loses the ball. It had not come out. She found it under the turf, grabbed it and dropped in the sand and proceeded to do the exact same thing… WOW!
  • Hole seventeen, RayRay gets a birdie (a twelve foot putt). It is his third in his sixth career event, moving his average from .4 to .5 birdies per round. Well that was only the second 2 recorded on a Slammer / Myrtle scorecard so far (none yesterday and LilMuffin had the only other one on hole 13). Will it hold up to be his first ever skin?
  • Rookie Pearls, playing in only her second ever event and on her 35th hole as a Slammer, gets to the tee and – YES – she does – an ACE! Don’t feel sorry for RayRay, he still DID get the skin, bad coaching from someone? With her Eagle, Pearls becomes the 79th Slammer to record one and she is tied for 33rd place in the career EAGLE race.

Summary
“The Tournament Players Club of Myrtle Beach opened to rave reviews on February 2, 1999. Many of golf’s most respected sources have already hailed the TPC as an instant classic.” Welcome back – we are now onto day three of the trip and about to play our second Slammer event. Best deal that I have ever seen in golf, INCREDIBLE! Malone and McGoop are doing great with their negotiations. Because we are teeing off as twilight, and there is no guarantee to finish 18, today we have a replay option and it will cost us only $25. Check the Notable column, and see the first Slammer ACE of the season. We had at least three alligator sightings today and that does not include seeing AllyCat near Gator. Cuba
First star Cuba, says that this is his 200th career event and Grumpy trusts him and records it . Cuba goes on to win all of his matches today, and remains one of the four undefeated at Myrtle. He successfully defends against RipZone on the 12th (he was 4-3 lifetime with four matches decided on the 18th). He then beat Malone for the first time in seven matches, with his par on 17. He was all square with the latest pro to join the tour, heading to the 18th tee. Cuba gets a par and Diesel doubles. Against two pros and Fidel’s favourite Slammer goes undefeated.
ZenGirl
Finally an appearance from one of the tour’s leading ladies. After giving up her 37 rank by default to three opponents yesterday, ZG shows up to play. She successfully defends against Gazzif on 11, then takes down Pearls on 14, and upsets {to move back up 11 rungs on the ladder) BearCat on the seventeenth. The BearCat win avenges her last match against him at Smugglers.
Ceejay (r)
Two days as a Slammer and six wins. Ceejay has the most wins here in Myrtle. Yesterday he didn’t earn a star when he beat Gazzif on 11, Bainesy on 12 and Sunny on 15. Today he defended against Bainesy, ShortStack & Sunny all on the 13th. So two days as a Slammer, and a 6-0 record. Only Sunny has lasted beyond the thirteenth hole (the first time). One dog already and we sure hope to see him again on tour back home. (editor’s note – check his record and opposition tomorrow).
