We had three stars for the trip. They were Writer, who was the obvious choice as he was the first star for the last two days. He won a $50 Slammer wear gift certificate and a pass for Marshes. The weekend second star, to win another $50 Slammer wear gift certificate is Easy B "I am now 18-0 career on tour". Third star goes out to Gru and he wins a $30 Slammer certificate.

Summary
Some old vets returning - and even with new names. Many rookies (still checking the record books!), and some current Slammers having new names also. Men, ladies, and all ages, have come out for Slammer Tour Match play at Jack's place {course designed by the Golden Bear hisself. Good thing that this isn't a stroke play league, and all that matters are the matches - because there seems to be an average score on the right - wink wink - and it is in Grumpyville.

Shotgun start on hole #5. It is the second day in a row that this rookie is the top star. As a result he also earned #1 star for the weekend. He goes back to Canada, with another 3-0 day. What else? How about two birdies - both good for a skin, and a doggie as well. An 8-1 record, 116 bones, two sleeves of Bridgestone balls, a Slammer toque, a pass to Marshes and a $50 gift certificate for Slammer wear. Don't forget that most important Slammer tradition... bragging rights. |

Gru (hole four starters) went 3-0 today. His first win and THE upset was over Sunny (7 and 5). That hardly seems to be the hole to bring your career record to 2-2-1 (Sunny had won both matches previously this season). Along the way he won 93 bones for a dog and a skin. In fact it was a trifecta. Gru also was the third star of the weekend. His other opponents kept his record unblemished vs PizzaMan (2nd loss) and Gator (5-0). |

HASTE makes WASTE. First off - I would like to apologize to ShelGame (his group began on two.) for some errors that I had announced at the event yesterday. In a few minutes his stardom went from 1st to 3rd, he lost the announced doggie, and was mentioned as a candidate for third star for the weekend and also lost that. Congratulations on your sleeve of balls and your orange Slammer toque. My first error was that I mentioned that he was first star for jumping 88 rungs up the Slammer ladder. Well actually, he came in at #27 and although going 3-0 none were upsets. His first victim was yesterday's 2nd star, riding a high, SunShine (5 and 3). Then he beat Hacker again, but three holes earlier than he had on Friday. When his par on eighteen was good enough to avenge his inaugural match with IronMaiden, and bring him to 3-0. Felicitations! |
