Notables

  • There were no TC matches today.
  • Ali G antied up and is now in the Hole-in-One club.
  • No toilet paper issued today.
  • There was only one milestone today. Mulder recorded his 100th career point when he beat GolfGeek 5and4.
  • Great Pace today by the Tour – we were led by a bunch of newbies whose career events are less than the 13 month veteran Mulder, has this season alone.
  • Speaking of the right winger – thank you for another good job as the Real Fans Skins Master.
  • Today’s first star (on the right - LOOK!) is now using a caddy. Three events which include – first TC champion of 2015, upset and highest Slammer ranking ever of #7, & a successful 3-0 defence. “Hey Crushy, I think that your caddy should turn pro!” “I already told her that we are.” Gotta keep that golf diva streak going … Modern usage of the word diva re-emerged in the early 1990s when singer Annie Lennox named her first post-Eurythmics album Diva. Since that, the word has often been used to describe a female artist who achieved enormous success.
  • Doggy Master McGoop collected and doled out the bones for Culligan Water. He sure likes teasing and issuing suspense, and we thank you.
  • At the event, during the OC report, Grumpy explained why he very seldom will choose McGoop as a star. Even though he is head and shoulders above the Tour, I need him to be spectacular. For instance this all-time skins leader surpassed the original skins leader in about one fifth the amount of events.
  • I implore all of you out there to file more claims. Why so? The purpose is for the better good. For the whole Tour to read and learn. Don’t let the claim be emotional, continue golfing, and remember that the claim may be ruled either way. Notice that most claims involve Rulz and/or Malone.
  • So today my first rules question has to do with bunkers. I believe that you cannot rake a bunker (that’s how Raker got his name) before your shot – even if it has nothing to do with your shot. If you walk across a bunker to get the rake – you cannot rake your footsteps (right Sutty?) until after you shoot. I hope there is more chatter about this.
  • My second rule comment … Provisionals – there was a $5 bet on a ruling, with a crowd of watchers – and what I liked about it was the fact that there was much conversation before the event. We all know that there is no shortage of debate with the amber fluid flowing. (let me add that two OCs were discussing this very topic the next day all along the third fairway at Dragonfly – and it caused a letter sent along for decision).
  • Every OC has a different style - Cuba chooses the most stylin at eac h of his events. In honour of him - and receiving votes from Kookie and Orange Crush, they chose Chip-me-in for not only his clothes matching - but that he matched his clubs and golf bag as well.

Quotables

  • “Another seven! It’s my favourite number.” “You should change your favourite to three!!!”
  • “I’m playing like a girl.” “Well this girl is beating you!”
  • “WOW! The course is in great shape.”
  • “That was a LOB driver!”
  • “Two, four, six, eight (scores on hole three), we think that Orange Crush is great.”
  • “Well done Twirp!”
  • “You have a decent poker hand Bubba.” “The way that I am going, I will have two of them.”
  • “Go ahead and pull it. I don’t care.”
  • “We played hole 11 and had six pars. Unfortunately we were only a foursome.”
  • “Here is Sutty & BearCat’s money for the kidz ($18.50)”
  • “You’re sitting on my nuts.”
  • “He’s doing dishes.”
  • “It’s like taking money from a baby.”
  • “Wow that is very good card stock that you use for your printed scorecard. Do you have that at home?” “I bet he print it at the office.” “No – it is WiFi paper!”
  • “There was her little bonhomme again.” “BonneDame!”
  • “Can you change my dad’s name to Mc3Putt?” “Hey McWalk home!”
  • Two of the most quotable Slammers (BearCat & Sutty) handed in a group sheet with no quotables?

Summary
Welcome to this 195th event of the 2015 Slammer season. This is the 3rd trip this season to BCC, where we have played once a month for six seasons. Today a full house of Slammers ventured south to take on this tough course, Again today, the course won, with very few Slammers bettering their SM. Another anomaly, today was “where is Waldo (I mean Potter)?” Our usual host went to Watkins Glen to see the Joey Logano show. I guess it isn’t only Slammers walking up the hill to 17th tee box (same hill as the walk up two – but four hours later) that run out of gas – right Harvick? I would like to apologize to you for this late report but when we entered home after the 14.5 hour Sunday at ten o'clock there was nothing left in the tank.

Stars
Orange Crush
Some days the decision making is not easy when choosing the stars. This wasn't one of those days for this OC to pick this first star. She went 3-0, and is a mere two 99s away from leaving the D class. Today three wolves came after the lofty #8, and after she placed her second doggie ball on the green on fifteen, she shook hands with all three opponents. It was her first career win against BigGuy (previously 0-3), Bubba, and Chip-me-in. In fact today, when applying the blind match function at the bottom of the page, she was 14-5 (loss to Sneaky on 18) vs the field. Oh yes by the way – I mentioned the doggy ball on 15 which wasn’t good for the dog … she did need two leashes to bring home the canines on 3 & 17. WOW, now go to the left and read the 7th notable (contains a quotable).
Juice
Look down below and see the upsets. There were very few and of those many were upsets ONLY in rankings. This was their first match, but when Juice shook hands with RonBow after #14, it vaulted her back into the top ten. This was her seventh visit to Brockville, and her best round that didn’t have a hole in one in it – in fact the difference today and then was the score on hole nine. Her win over Gator was her tenth straight after they started their career at 5-4-2. Oh yes - also beat Grumpy again!
Pickle
The youngest Slammer may be having an identity crisis. Last year his name was Huntz. Today he has two different ones in the quotables. There are many that are already planning his next, and it seems that at each event gerkin – cucumber – cocombre – zucchini – DQ are all being considered. Does he care? No – he is just about ‘show me the money’ ,,, shall we call him Jerry Maguire? Two dogs and a skin find him buying at McDonalds today, because he made more than the old man. His upset of Ace may have been his only win but a loss to McGoop will soon turn around. He forced Smitty (the last Slammer to beat Dad) to par 18 to go All Square.
