Notables

  • TC Mixed B result today … PipeLine and Small Pak advance to the FINAL FOUR with their hole 11 victory over RipZone & Kaki. They wait for the final round two match to be played. They will play RonBow & Orange Crush (if they win) or Sunny & Lulu.
  • PoP … The TCs (especially the mixed ones) get a bad rap for their slow pace. Today’s group never lost the group ahead of them, when falling behind, always closed the gap, and finished in 4&15 … HATS OFF to you four.
  • The six Slammers that went winless today were all given Fortune cookies. They were asked to submit them with any golf comments for today. Mulder shared with us the game that he played in college (add the words ‘On Tour’ to the fortune). IronMaiden chose to take the numbers and buy a lottery ticket (let us know). BigGuy’s said “You have an unusually magnetic personality … On Tour. Sutty’s said “Others will be impressed with your generosity … on Tour. He would like to add see my score on holes 13-18. DeeJay never lost but took the last cookie BUT didn’t share the comment.
  • PINK is the colour for breast cancer. You are in our thoughts and prayers Tooth Fairy, especially during next Friday’s fourth session. Today, the OC was adorned in all pink (YES Kaki – they are), hat, shirt, shorts, and all of the sheets. There was tomfoolery and teasing and even pictures where the course’s props were used. OC announced the reason for the long hair was that he was donating it to a “Wigs for Cancer” program in Sharon’s name. Inviting anybody else that wants to join in.
  • Aging … I ALWAYS use it as an excuse. Others? Some Slammers arrive at the course early and get ready. Some as they age need more time. Reminder, you should put your shoes on before that first drive. Good thing that you slipped.
  • OLD RULE … Doggy ball was left on the green. Next group all hit. Two are inside the original doggy ball. In the olden days only the closer Slammer was allowed to attempt the doggy. If he missed and the further away Slammer got the birdie or par he DIDN’T get the dog. GRUMPY is HAPPY for change.
  • RULES question. Regarding GUR (Ground Under Repair). Did you notice that just before and to the left of the green on hole nine – there was GUR. It is an area that many golfers would choose to putt from (and I am not even talking about Ripper’s Texas wedge). Not puttable – this GUR … so the question is ‘can you move the ball’? While on the subject of rules there was a claim made today – do you all know the process? Announce before teeing off on the next hole that you are making a claim. Then within 24 hours, submit it to rulings@slammertour.com. All decisions are then posted at http://slammertour.com/slammertour-decisions.shtml.
  • MILESTONES … springlakes played event number 100 today, and will soon be contacted for info about shirt size and colour. When Twin Dad shook hands with Dazed after 16, it marked his 100th career loss. Dazed had a birdie skin on 18 and it entered him into the 500 bones won club. P-Bomb’s congratulatory handshake from Kricket was for the win and 200th career point.
  • IronMaiden did the skins report and when they are made live = that lessens the OC’s job by a ton on game night! THANK YOU from Broker4Tickets but MORESO from moi. Especially when you caught those 5s that looked like 3s on hole eight. We had a rookie QuickSnap Doggy Master, did another awesome job and thank you for your help, Mulder.

Quotables

  • “Leading the Tour in events? NOT Juice or Iron maiden, but YOU!”
  • “Welcome back DeeJay!” “Welcome back Flyer!”
  • “Hey Sutty did you not get the memo? Your foursome is all in blue,” “Look at my glove!” “Obviously you didn’t get the memo Grumpy!”
  • “Just remember that it is Kakeee and NOT Kakaaa.”
  • “Did the Greens Keeper get cut off last night?”
  • “I’ll hit. He has a handful.”
  • “I’m not blaming the hill, I am crediting it!”

Summary
An event at MC with no Jonathan? I think that he owed me a beer! I will be back, to collect. Not only was Jonathan missing but so are the #1, #3 and #8 (adjusted to be 6). We have been honouring the idle rule all season, whereas a top five ranked player in any division must defend within two weeks plus a day. Biggest changes of the year happened yesterday, today and tomorrow affected many top tens overall. As for today, once again twenty Slammers jockey to get into one of the Tour’s hottest venues. Rookie (in his 11th season) TwinDad got in real late and no challenge options – but HAD he of challenged three – he may have had less strong opponents.

Stars
Mulder
Three and OH isn't always the only deciding factor. After all he beat three guys that were ranked lower than him. His career record vs this group was 49-31-2, and has now changed to 52-31-2. The score doesn't matter! A few weeks ago Mulder was precluded from the D TCs. He moved back to D for a few events. TODAY? After 14 holes, he had 9 pars to go along with his bogey and birdie. Yes you are reading correctly - 11 of the 14 holes and this C player is at even par? He recorded his 300th career point when he went 3-0 after 14. He had the birdie on hole eight with three great shots, including a 30 foot putt. Congratulations on your stardom and successful defense of #17. Enjoy that first star prize a sleeve of Titlelist velocity.
KidsClub
This all time leading OC also went three and OH, and was the only slammer to win his group with an UPSET. He lost the fifteenth hole to remain 1U (his career vs P-Bomb was 0-3-1), Kids Club hung on and they halved the last three holes, making KC the new #10. That was a jump up of 41 rungs. His birdie on 14 was good for a skin. The second star prize was a pair of green fees at Falcon Ridge. "KidsClub never 2 putted today!"
Smallpak
Congratulations! Small Pak & PipeLine advance to the TC Mixed B semi finals (FINAL FOUR), with their 11th hole victory. Along the way, she had two birds and two dogs and didn't work for a vet. She took down Kaki on the 12th and won her inaugural match vs RipZone 3 and 2.
