  • The leaf rule was used today – as a snow rule. I thank RonBow, who let me know that official rules state that you treat snow as casual water. Also thank you, RB for your inaugural doggie report! You were the first Slammer to do a QuickSnap Doggie event, locally. Doggie holes 4-9-13-15-17 went out to Bobo, Juice, IM, McGoop & F6JR). F6JR played in his first event, became the new youngest Slammer and won his first dog by beating dad by three feet.
  • Iron Maiden – thank you for your REAL FANS skins work. I am willing to bet that your foursome was also thankful when they received their Easter goodies.
  • Four Slammers added to the hole in one club today. Steel Crazy, Bookie, Orange Crush & RonBow bring the current total to 40 ($400 in the pot).
  • Very few Slammers shot their median today. That is not the course's fault because the conditions were awesome. Mulder (-8), Tesla (-7), and Bobo (-6) led the way, however this is match play and they only combined for a 3-4-1 record.
  • MILESTONE alert. On the 16th hole, when Bookie shook hands with Blue – it made Blue the 24th Slammer to reach 800 points. His draw with Juice was her 75th. Juice is 14th to get to that number of draws. Cracker reached his 100th career loss when he went down to X-Tour. Later X-Tour tied Bobo to get his 200th career point
  • Upsets and the anomalies of a match play ladder. Today we show 15 upsets, however not one of the winners had a losing record against those that they upset. How come? Well one example - when a guy returns to play his 498th event after a long absence, we shouldn’t be surprised that he goes 3-0, to bring his wins total to 1054. Hey Chilly, did you know that Iron Maiden moved into a second place tie at 1051 with you, you fixed that today!

Summary
EASTER Sunday! A very holy day. Also a day that is a big family day. How apropos that our season start on this renewal day (HE is risen!). So many people think of golf as a religion. This Tour has been called an extended family so often by so many. Welcome to the 2016 season, although this is already our 25th event AND the 5th leg. We started off in 2015 and played through Christmas. The second leg brought 37 Slammers to Cuba. Next were the events (first in North America during this calendar year), in Syracuse, and the Tour played in Jamaica last week. Awesome Eh, Huh Mon? After two cancellations, this is the first outdoor event for the 2016 season played in the National Capital Area. Nobody (there is that most famous Slammer again) has played in all five legs.

Juice
She went 2-0-1 today, and became the highest ranked Slammer to leave Prescott. The new number four also wins a hat by becoming #1 Slammette. At tee time, she was introduced as being 0-5 career vs Blue. They have played here at Prescott (4th year in a row) in 4 of their 6 career matches. Today was the first time that Juice won the 18th hole over him and it earned her a tie, and the #4 rank. Oh yeah along the way she had a skin & a dog and the quotable that was heard but NOT spoken by Juice was “McDonald's tonight!”.
Bobo
Today he went 2-0-1. This includes an ‘upset’ over Cracker to move 11 rungs up the ladder. During introductions, it was announced that he wanted to beat Cracker to move from #10C to #4C. Although he did win he is not the #4C. His B score moved him to #23B. Bobo was also one of only two Slammers to be present at the 19th to collect his doggie bones. Congrats on your tenth career doggie!
McGoop
THE MAN! As reported at the presentation, will be as shocked as I am that I have named him a star. He went 3-0 (now 21-0 lifetime against those three). HO HUM! He had three birdies – boring not only was it predicted during his introduction – even one of the holes was correct. Two skins - thank you Volley for that chip in on 18 to prevent his third skin! Tenth dog of the season and another 100+ bones day. His normalcy was too good for me to skip today. The new #9 is inching back to McGoop territory.
