Summary
This was the inaugural event in the Monday series reserved for players aged 50 and older and is a part of the Champions League series of events. Welcome to the dozen of the 50 plus crowd who came out to enjoy a day of Match Play under spectacular summer weather and course conditions. Champlain is in great condition with super greens...receptive, true, and fast greens with some tricky pin placements made putting a real joy, at least most of the time. Champlain greens are a hidden gem in the Ottawa region. Well maintained, cut closely and watered daily all done by greens keepers who are golfers and take pride in having outstanding greens. By all accounts we all enjoyed the event with many comments to return for the next event this following Monday. Thanks to the Champions and Slammers who came out to this event. He was on fire today as Papa Malone takes home the 1st star award. Competing in the low 90s group, he takes down Pepilepu, FrenchHooligan and Huns and registers an A score tieing the low round of the day. Papa has 1 birdie, takes home 2 skins and jumps the ranking ladder by some 100 steps. Excellent!! |
