Notables

Milestone alert - Grumpy had to wait 100 days because of the snow-out for the last event in 2016. Today he became the fourth Slammer ever to play his 700th event. Dyke recorded his 100th win and 50th career bird. Luvlife is only the 76th Slammer to lose her 150th match.Chip-me-in joined the 500 lost bones club (only 7.88 per event).
EAGLE alert - Ripzone records his third career eagle, on hole three. He jumped from a 36th place tie to now being tied for 11th most eagles. How did he get this one? Well with a 109 yard wedge shot for the deuce. The four other twos were all cut off birdies.
Hole in One Club - four latest members are CarPro, CrowBush, Dman & Vespa.
Bainsey, used his course knowledge to hit his Slammer scoring median - which is not so important! However only four others beat their median led by MsDemeanor (-8), Ripzone (-7), Rulz (-6) and Gatorette (-5). As a result, both ladies won a sleeve of balls as an honourable mention
WORLD CHAMPION alert! He is getting the tattoo tomorrow. It will say Mexico 2017 - with the Olympic rings, because he has won the Iberostar Gold Medal for table tennis ......... D R A C U L A !!!
Slammer Tour has a maximum score of 8. There was a nine in Cuba on January 16. Therefore if you look below and to the right in the column for the 18th hole - near the bottom - you will see another 9. That is the Tour's second this season but it is the first ever nine on Tour in Mexico. CONGRATS!
See that par four number nine? One day this week - look at the fairway from the blue tee blocks. Most of us never get to see the course from there - have a look!
Great weather? Even in Hawaii they get snow a couple of times a year - they call it Pineapple Power.

Summary
Gregg, Omar, Marcos and the rest of the superb Iberostar staff went above and beyond and we are very thankful. That's right - you saw it - a course rating of ten (how can I give more?), the average from the sheets was nine point eight. That's all Folks - day one is in the books.

	Ripzone
	Is one of the nine Slammers that went undefeated but he was the only one with an eagle. That eagle was good for a skin. Both of his wins were upsets. First he upset chill 8and6 in their first ever match. Two holes later, he avenged his only loss to DJD by upsetting him 6and5. Scores are not as important as matches, but Ripper had the second best score relative to his median. 'Honey' came to play!
	Rulz
	This 3-0 record today is also by a 'lower than median' Slammer. Rulz' birdie on thirteen was cutoff, therefore no skin. His first win was over Stylin Guy and earned SG that most valuable prize on the Tour. That's right at our annual awards dinner, Stylin Guy will win a package of TP (result of being ten holed). Next victim was Dyke (6and5), bringing Rulz record vs Dyke to 13-5. The first win was way back in 2001. With his upset over Dracula (perfect 3-0 career), Rulz moves up from #84 overall ranking to #44. This bubble B player is now #7A after taking down the vampire.
	Gator
	Goes 3-0, in what was almost his last ever Slammer event. He mentioned before the match (after Gatorette said that she was going to beat him), that he would quit if she won. Well they were all square as they teed off on their eighteenth hole. Well she sure scared him, which was too bad for Rulz, Gator's tee shot was eight feet inside of Rulz' doggie ball. He also had a birdie on thirteen, as he dispatched of Mulder and Grumpy (45th time).
