Actual Slammer Voting Commentary

  • I vote for Dyke. He had the furthest to travel.

  • My vote is for ironman Steve Ryan: he represents what the tour is all about!

  • I can't get into the site for some reason, so... based on my recollection of attendance, performance, and general humour, I vote Sweet Keats #1; The Commish #2; Shawshank #3 (best sport out there)

  • My nominations for slammer of the year are Shawshank (who should've given up long ago), Tender Keats, and Stevie Ray Ryan for the unbelievable deteriation of his golf game near the end of the season after having such a great streak in the beginning.

  • Hey buddy... my votes are for you and the Natural (the only 2 guys that owned me last year)

  • Top 3 picks: Rulz Ryan for attendance, record, apres-golf (and lost points for intersectional); Sweat Keats for attendance, apres-golf, and personification of the Slammer Tour Player (Jekyl/Hyde golf score volatility giving challengers basically even-money to take $5 on any given week); Skinny FatMan for record (win/loss and POTW selections), de-thronage of above, intersectional (but needs more attendance)

  • My Votes: Rulz Ryan - 21 events and still keep a girl friend; how do ya do it??? I need to know your secret!; Skinny FatMan - 19W 3L - good record; Newsy Lalonde - 8-1-1 That's HUGE!! Even though his attendance was low, I looked at the winning percentage - not everyone can play 21 events.

  • IN THE EVENT THAT A PERSON CANNOT VOTE FOR THEMSELVES, MY 3RD PICK GOES TO DEEWAYNE

  • My 2001 Slammer of the Year picks: Commish - 74 at Stonebridge (and especially the 34 front side) was one of the best rounds I've played alongside in a long time. That plus consistent performance (you probably won the Vardon Trophy) throughout the year. Skinny FatMan - Gutty performer who is a shrewd match play performer as evidenced by his 19-3 record. Makes most of his game and may be the best putter on Tour; HotDog McIntyre - Tour mainstay has highest 'performance : range time ratio on the tour (I don't know if he ever practices). Only Skinny Fatman had fewer losses, and HotDog was going up against Slammer heavyweights week in week out

  • My votes for 2001 Slammer of the Year are: The Natural (key intersectional performance and long bomber); Darsh (Ripper) Jenkins (attendance, chia petting, infant putter); Dave (Hotdog) McIntyre (holding the number one spot for so many weeks early in the season

About Our Sponsors

Bill "Billiards" Ryan and his lovely wife, Carole, graciously supplied The Tour with the Preston Cup.

About The Cup

The Preston Cup was named after the Ryan family's dog, Preston. While he wasn't the best-looking, nor the best-smelling nor was he the friendliest dog around, he was fun and tremendously personable... and those are the traits of the Slammer of the Year.

Remember, the Slammer of the Year is voted on by your peers, so work your magic and make some allies.
