Notables

  • Alan Hicks at FITforeGOLF should hand a medal to Cuba. Our summer solstice skin specialist took off with his group at 6:50, was in under 3:45, started to do the skins and had 80% done when he had to go out to lead-off group two. Thank you for a great job - with no names mentioned. Your replacement took longer to enter the last group. Finally collecting 19 bones each were Burnsy, Kids Club & PizzaMan to go with the Golden Bear's two.
  • A rare appearance from the Commish, playing only his second round in Canada on the tour this season, stepped in as Doggie Master. He handed 33 bones to Golden Bear, Grumpy and Burnsy.
  • There may be one more change coming. OC is looking into the group two challenges. How apros pos during these days of such talks that we have to research, who FrLepu challenged. Can somebody shed light?

Quotables

  • "You know you had a bad bunker shot, when you have to get in your cart and drive to your ball."
  • "Did you get dressed in the dark?"
  • "How's it going Nemesis?"
  • "Hey Number7, why aren't you driving in cart 7?" "I asked her for it at the beginning, she said that it would be bad karma."
  • "Ders a lot a dip in dat one."
  • "Hey Golden Bear and Rambo, keep up that great pace guys!" " When Grumpy speaks, we listen!" "We will get a buffet and the rest of you end up with a bag lunch."
  • "WOW! are you going for it?" "With my score, I am only playing for skins now."
  • "Are the afternoon groups the same?" "They are the same as they were last night at 10:00. That is the way it works Sunny!"

Summary
Summer Solstice event #3. Summer will arrive at 1:17 on Tuesday. The summer solstice occurs exactly when the Earth's axial tilt is most inclined towards the sun at its maximum of 23° 26'. Though the summer solstice is an instant in time, the term is also colloquially used like Midsummer to refer to the day on which it occurs. Except in the polar regions (where daylight is continuous for many months during the spring and summer), the day on which the summer solstice occurs is the day of the year with the longest period of daylight. Thus the seasonal significance of the Summer solstice is in the reversal of the gradual shortening of nights and lengthening of days. The day that the US open crowns their champion, we will play 36. Just as Rory is getting his first birdie of the final round, our first group should be putting out on #32. Once again I have the pleasure of co-hosting with the first lady of the tour) did you know that Iron Maiden last Tuesday played in her 200th career event?

Stars
Golden Bear
Welcome back Jack. I hope that the back holds up and allows you to visit us more often. 71 bones for a dog {16} and back to back skins on 15 & 16 with two birds. He had an earlier bird cut-off. He kept his rank by beating Rambo on 15. Then that second skin won him two matches against Smitty {#6} and Cuba {#3}, vaulting him 116 spots. How fitting that on the day that Jack Nicklaus is most famous for. The third Sunday of June, winning the US open – we have his name sake as first star.
PingMan
Three upsets earns Pingman his star status today. Yes he went 3-0 and jumped 50 spots. First victim was Grumpy and although it shouldn’t have been deemed an upset, he did move 5 spots. Next was Number 7 on the 15th and then Iron Maiden on 18 by a stroke. And only two cigars. Look out X-Tour, Pingman is ready to show why this class "C" runner up is ready to play you in the second half of the double header for the "B".
Malone
YES! Tis true, that our boy Malone, just had one of those “A” type games. He had no skins nor any dogs, our assistant commish would have had a skin with his birdie on 13, but he was cut off by the real commish. He went 3-0, and his defeat against his recruit Burnsy, has him now within one of squaring their career 4-5-1. Anybody see that first drive? He also played with Sunny & Toro. Ask any of them about it.
