He is only the second player in Slammer history to hit this 100 event milestone and came close in 2010 when he played a total of 99 events that year. The current record for most events played in one season was set by Ticklar in 2009 at 101...Congrats to Grumpy as he plays out the week and will surely break and set the new record

Summary
Hurricane Sandy was all the talk leading up to today's event at Equinelle and less than 24 hours before the event was to begin we only had six Slammers signed in to tee it up.....But as the entire Eastern seaboard suffered the wrath of Sandy we were weather channel watching here in Ottawa and the local forecast was calling for temps in the high teens with little to no rain.... Within hours this event went from a 6 man-2 group-unofficial skins event to a sold out 16 man-4 group-mid week Slammer extravaganza!! Incredible!

Rio was playing in his 12th event on tour in this, his rookie season....but he is no rookie to the game and stands his ground as he defends his #2 rank against PointZero on the 13th, Pita on the 15th and battling to the 18th with Malone as he holds his 1 up position in their match through all nine holes on the back nine. Rio records three birdies with one holding up for the skin and finishes off the day with the dog on the 16th. Congrats! |

Another rookie making a mark for himself and he is obviously becoming quite comfortable with the whole star thing...Today he takes 2nd star honours as he defends against Sandy and takes Bubba and Pommie's ranks moving 40 spots up the Slammer totem pole. Six points, 1 bird and a skin will be added to his stats. And one last thing....it has been determined that there is no possible abbreviated version of this Slammers nickname. Well done! |

This Slammer had a great day on the links...really great. So great in fact that he upsets all in his foursome and finds himself in the top 10 of the Slammer ranks as he putts out on the 14th hole. That putt earned him an immediate four points from IronMaiden and Grumpy......and two holes later he took two more from Swanny. A par skin on the first hole was pretty great too...Greatski!; |
