Notables

  • Twin events today. Sometimes you get to see the other events comments are in relationship to your event. Well go read tomorrow's report about the kids money - our 15 Slammers out putted the two at PineView tomorrow. They have more money for the kids. see the 2nd last quotable below.
  • Bookie had an angiogram on Tuesday. Maybe he should have one every week!
  • Thank you Gator for stepping in and volunteering to take care of the Culligan Water doggie duties
  • My perennial vote for Preston Cup is the only two time winner. Iron Maiden is seldom at an event where she isn't the OC or one of the other masters. Today, she did the Evolution Physio Skin Report, and tried to maintain the room even with a hurried OC trying to get out. She wasn't DONE there yet, she even offered to finish the OC duties. I knew that the scores didn't need to be entered - affecting the rankings for the next day's events because there was a non-affected small field 'tomorrow'. THANK YOU I M!
  • Well Chef went undefeated AGAIN! This brings his season record to 15-1-1, and successfully defends #1 for the fourth time. Today breaks his string of four straight star performances.
  • MILESTONE ALERT! Grumpy becomes the 50th Slammer to win his 50th career dog {cut off Bookie today on #11} and "yes I know that SHE did that many in one year!"

Quotables

  • "I will try to give you a real match this time Chef."
  • "Third time lucky?" "Hey Chef - I think that my first three events last year were also against you." "Hey Old Spice when are you going to learn?"
  • "Bookie, I'm glad you won." "Thank you!"
  • "8s come fast on a par 5!"
  • "We have Gator, Grumpy , and GreenReader, I move that we change her name to Guice."
  • speaking about name changes - "Now that ToothFairy had wisdom teeth removed, we should call her ToothlessFairy."
  • "Well at least mine hit the cup." "At least mine hit the BOTTOM of the cup!"
  • "I'm hot!" "I'll say!" "I agree!"
  • "Good thing it is hot out, with all of this waiting, I am stiff." "Show me!"
  • "Hey Grumpy is that a record? Only two Slammers and the kids get $13.50."
  • "Hey Grumpy ...Haha yeah I tried sending an email to you and Chef and it wouldn't send! Yeah really happy she's an amazing little girl, I will be back out on the course soon with my dad and brother as they are all coming over :) See you soon." "Hey Hitch get them some nicknames - but Wanker & Scouser are taken."

Summary
Hey Smitty - get that appendix taken care of and come back real soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Brother! The first item to mention is that the first star was given his 25 Evolution Physio bones and his 18 Culligan Water bones at the game. What was he wearing? YES! tis true - he was sporting a SENS hat. More importantly than seeing a diehard trueblue LEAFS fan wearing the hat {the same guy that stood proud in Binghamton wearing his fleece, amid all the SENS fans}, is to share BIG NEWS! There were 16 Slammers scheduled to drive and putt in the Gatineaus today. Alas only fifteen showed up and last year's #1 was missing. Three defaults? Well occasionally there is a good reason to miss an event and Executive Golf won't even charge you. This was one, and I share what I read on FaceBook (do you follow the tour?): "Philip Hitchen is SOOO happy to announce the arrival of Sophia Lana Hitchen, weighing 7.3lbs, Mum (Michelle) and Sophia are doing amazing. I'm one proud Daddy;)." Hey Hitch - congrats from your whole Slammer family! His reply is the final quotable today - move over to your left and see. Imagine that a no show - and the first quote of the day as well.

Stars
ShortStack
Well he shot his best Slammer score ever. He had a dog and he had a skin. Total of 43 bones. He had them delivered to the ScotiaBank Place and was promptly seen wearing it! He wouldn't allow pictures, but Gator also saw it with his own eyes. TallStack was the other Slammer witness, but wont admit seeing the hat perched on his Leafy son's head. By the way, on his way to his undefeated day, ShortStack successfully maintained his rank although playing a couple of "A" players. Spud & Pouf. This foursome had some great matches, with 5 decided on the 18th hole. The other match was only done a hole earlier. Are you allowed to park there?
Bookie
Wow, when this Super Senior comes out to play - you better bring kryptonite. He 'defuses the Muises' by the twelfth, and after those two upsets moves up 26 steps on the Slammer ladder. He then defends against Tooth Fairy. She lasted until the 16th hole before the hand shake. This victory for Bookie was on event #37 this season, avenging his only loss to her at event #37 last year. He had a doggy {for his 97th career} until the second last Slammer stood up to the teebox, on eleven. The Bookster did win one of those skins, for his bird on twelve. Now I mentioned the Personal Best for the first star - I invite you to go read the note about the first star on August 8, 2012. Another 82! http://www.slammertour.com/slammertour-event-summary.php?event_id=1947&season=2012
Gator
Gator was today's third star. He went undefeated and upset Juice. You all saw the movie BeetleJuice, well after watching those two play for four and a half hours - go to youtube and watch the Slammer tour version. We call it GatorJuice. You all know the Banana Boat Song... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQXVHITd1N4. His other two matches? Took down Green Reader 4and2 {although not an official upset - there is an 11 stroke difference in their median}, and beat his Ottawa Sun Scramble partner - again.
