 Notables - TC Match - Congratulations to the team of Papa Malone & Malone who are the 2013 Parent Child TC Champs after their victory over Chubs & F6Noob. Although the conditions weren't the best the match was close not ending until the 17th hole.

100 Yard Sprint - Bookie challenged his umbrella to the 100 yard sprint. It was good thing that the umbrella ran out of steam and staggered across the finish line into the bull rushes. One more rotation and Bookie could have watched it sail away in victory!

DOGGIES - Wow, only two of five par 3s gave ground today. Malone picks up one on hole #7 (48ft) and Chubs tastes victory on hole #12 (45ft). At least four potential doggies went the way of the feel good three putt. Each bone was good for $20.00.

SKINS - Skins abounded today, three for Malone on holes #1, #5 & #6, two for F6Noob on holes #9 & #18, one each for Gator on hole #11, Popeye on hole #13 and Papa Malone on hole #17. $5.00 each.

Summary
It rained hard and it rained for most of the round, tempting us with but a few minutes of respite. To add to everyone's joy and merriment, the wind tested the strength of everyone's umbrellas as well their Slammer sense of humour. That said, while there was lots of standing water in the fairways, the Talon greens drained surprising well. Despite it all a few stars still managed to shine through and we crowned new Parent/Child TC Champions. Many thanks to the Talon Director of Golf who so kindly purchased the beverages at the 19th hole.

Star light, start bright, first stare I see tonight.........Malone! Ignoring the heavy rains and harsh winds, this Slammer goes 2-0, racks up three birdies, takes three skins and a doggie. To top it off he forms the younger half of the 2013 Parent/Child TC Champion duo. |

Judging by the strength he showed in fighting thru some extremely unfavourable weather conditions, it certainly would appear that Olive Oyl made Popeye down a huge helping of spinach before heading for the course today. Getting Lucky, he has the Slammer's Bookie paying him off and runs Gator back to the swamp. Going 3-0 with two birdies and a skin, Popeye is full value as the outing's 2nd star. |
