Summary
Another great day in Brockville. Two late editions to the roster, and fourteen Slammers tee off. We leave a half hour gap and then follow the Ladies’ A inter-sectionals. We all know about Grumpy and pace ... well today we had to follow a very slow group. We were all aware and I think handled it well! CONGRATS to team Brockville for hoisting the trophy! Once again everybody spoke of how they enjoyed this course. Seven first timers vowed to return. One is quoted as saying "This is a MUST play course!" Go see his other quote (the second last one). This OC thinks that Slammers prefer a course that they KNOW and can BEAT! It IS a hard course to play especially as a first timer and not being aware of what is behind 'that mound' and 'does this dogleg - dogleg AGAIN?' Three ladies participated in the nineteenth hole and we didn't even have a Slammette (although BamBam / LilMuffin was there) in the field. Helen, Susan, and Nancy (went up the night before with Zoey to dine and dance at the BCC social), gave moral support.

Big Thunder / ShortStack - this Slammer really is IN the witness protection program. Three and OH! Defended against Zoey 4 and 2. On the next hole he shook hands with chip me in 2 and 1. His upset of GoTee brought their career to a 5-2 record in favour of the Goat. However this is two wins in a row for the THUNDER. It also moved the Stack up 20 steps on the ladder and into the top ten. By the way his two dogs were worth 46 bones which he promptly left in the Brockville pro shop. New colours coming soon! |

No longer Peter Holder (and I beg you to ask him why he was named that) - this is now P-Bomb. The biggest jump up the Slammer ladder today belonged to P-Bomb. He entered today’s event in an all-rookie threesome, with no matches vs. the group. He finished GolfGeek on eleven and upset the Sneaky one 4 and 2. He stayed around at the nineteenth, then left before finding out that his pars on 2 and 3 were BOTH good for skins. |

Or is it BeerCat? What a roll this Slammer is on! Although today was NOT his fourth straight B score – he did finish just seven over par on the last eleven holes (including a quad 8 on #16). He had the only birdies today, and also he was the only Slammer not named ShortStack to win a dog. During the introductions his 0-5-1 record was mentioned and he said that he would get his first win versus Potter. They were AS (All Square) teeing off on 18. However no double bogey has ever beaten a bogey. |
