Notables

  • BullDog’s wallet took a big hit today. Four – YES 4 packages at one event. It could have been five if NOT for Pistol Pete’s doggy on hole ten .
  • Welcome to newcomer Greedy. Find out more about why he has that name, and your hint is that it has nothing to do with his job as a banker. He earns his first victory of his career. It is over Bubba, and gets to start off on the 83rd rung of what is the Slammer ladder.
  • A very appreciative THANK YOU to the field, and in particular the five PoP (Pace of Play) captains. Turtle, went out first, and Stevie Ray, Malone, Grumpy, and Clang kept it tight. Everybody was very receptive to the foursome meeting held on the first tee, warned about having to skip hole ten if they fell behind and we had a 4 hour round. FANTASTIC!
  • Ace did his first gig as SkinMaster. We are still wondering how it happened – may have to give him another training course, because he claimed that he didn’t sign up for it. He handed out 30 Dynamic Physio & Chiro bones to PinShark and PukeyJ {two}. He did make a little error in his presentation and announced Pistol Pete’s birdie. Nobody was more surprised than the subdued PP.
  • Thank you Bubba for handling the Culligan Water doggy report and collecting all of the bones… for Pukey J on 8, Pistol Pete on 10, and springlakes on 12. Number six went uncollected – how did you do on it Flyer?
  • In Group two the lefties (Malone & Gator) challenged the righties (PinShark & Pistol Pete) to another match. It was halved when Gator chipped in for birdie – cutting off Inch – see second last quotable. I don’t know what kind of handicap system was used for that unofficial challenge, but the auditors show the lefts as winning 4 and 2.
  • BigTee has a new doggy ball.
  • Cuba has inspired me. He always chooses a best dressed Slammer at each of his events. Well today i do as well. Pukey is always an option but today I really liked the hat / shirt / skort combination that Pearls wore.

Quotables

  • “Are you sure that he is a “D” player?”
  • “Juicy roughs / sandy greens – to suit the temperature.”
  • “That group ahead of us were speed demons.”
  • “What ball are you playing?” “That one!”
  • “I almost had another hat trick. But I only got Toilet Papered twice “. {hey Bubba – it wasn’t that close – the rookie was only up six at the turn.)
  • “I’m swinging like Steve.”
  • “My worst round all year and I not a peep out of me.”
  • “Grumpy, you over achieved.” “You ever meet Jay? You would love her. I too over achieved!”
  • “I got TPed twice today, I will be thinking about you guys when I am wiping.”
  • “Thanks Malone. I had to carry you on 18.”
  • “Reminds me of the Beauty Pageant contest. Nobody won!” Maybe you need to work on your material.
  • “I just chipped in for birdie and nobody saw it.” “Doesn’t count then, do it again and we will all watch.” “By the way, is that a whine?”
  • I would rather play Slammer than anything else.”

Summary
What a treat! To get to play this beautiful - members only - club. We are doing it AGAIN, after just being here three and a half weeks ago. It was a popular venue and needed to have another group added. No problem - it filled quickly. Twenty Slammers arrived and adhered to what the OC had asked them. Just like most courses - all you need to do is stay down the middle. I would like to quote PizzaMan, "IronMaiden, can we move out here? This place is amazing! Everything about the facilities here are top notch. If the Slammer Tour is fortunate enough to play here again, be sure to inski. The extra few bones are well worth the experience." People that consider the Tour do appreciate how we are fortunate to get to visit these fine places. I think that this event is the beginning of a string of us visiting some of our finest tracks. See the week to come!

Stars
Pukey J
What a day for Pukey J. It all started off with much banter on the driving range. Then there was the tee blocks and him finding out how jealous Inch is of the closet of the 2012 Most Stylin Slammer. He gave much fashion advice. So he goes to the tee and is announced as a ranking of 125. Well three upsets later he is now #27, watch that you don’t get the bends for such a quick rise to the surface. He took down Stevie Ray on 15, Flyer on 16, and BigTee on 17. He won one dog, two skins, and led the field with three birdies.
Malone
Malone cost BullDog a couple of packs of TP. On the first tee block he was announced as having 399 career birds , and that today he would get his 400th. He hit his drive and two shots later had his 400th. The only bird on the day for Papa’s little boy. Hats off to the Man of many titles, for the abuse he had to take a few hours later when it was announced that he shot a 75 with an 8 on 18. He wakes up tomorrow as the new #5, now stay active!
Inch
Inch came back and not like an InchWorm. He wasn’t crawling along. He has been off – due to injury for way too long. In fact he had to default his TC match, as a result of the injury. We rib him a bit because his return is an easy one. This “B” player against three Ds. Well he shot an “A” score today and went undefeated, jumping 100 rungs today. He also had the best relative to median score in the field. Did I hear a new nickname? Was he called Inchy?
