- Grumpy goes into ProShop after the event to hand in a pair of socks that he found on the course. He put them on the counter beside Rulz’ clipboard – the Commish was in discussing business. A couple of hours later, as they were leaving Grumpy asks Rulz “Why do you have those?” “They are mine, I dropped them on the course and somebody brought them in.”
- FACTOID ¬– DeeJay was introduced as having at least one win, one loss, and one tie vs his playing partners prior to the match. Add three losses!
- CONGRATULATIONS to Sardine (the father of Luigi). In his third event ever he finally has his first win and collects two skins along the way. 775 rungs up the ladder
- Longest drive today - HARLEY saw the whales before golf, he travelled from Tadoussac, Qc.
- Now I encourage you to go read KidsClub's report at PineView today - three sixties ... THAT SCORE I REPORT!!! Records? What about our #1 being finished by 11, including his 100th straight win.

Summary
What a great event! An awesome course, weatherman co-operating and 8 Slammers, that had a great pace during eighteen and even a better pace at the nineteenth. The camaraderie was a fantastic mix of rookie / veteran involvement. Many laughs were shared. Ranging from Rulz’ hair to Sardine’s forgetfulness (isn’t it interesting how we forget to dole out the fives – but we never forget to collect them?). I warn all OCs to not listen to Steel Crazy’s opinion about who should be a star. This was another four hour round of golf – as it should be. Some meetings last longer! RULZ bought me a beer, I am sure glad that he won so much!

Rulz went 3-0, and was the only Slammer to hit from the blue tees today. He was introduced on the first tee as playing in his 23rd event – which is the most events he has played on Tour by this date since 2006. All three of his victories today were upsets. His first victim was #49 Harley. They shook hands after the 15th hole and Rulz moved 65 steps up the Slammer ladder. That was Rulz' first skin of the day, as he had the only par on fifteen. That win earned him his 1500th career point (only the 6th Slammer to do so). Two holes later, was when his par earned him his second skin, and the #14 rank. He upset DeeJay to bring his career record to 5-3-3. This was their first match since Nov7, 2011. The FINAL win and upset was over Steel Crazy (they split the canine pot – with two each). That win over Sweet Georgia Brown was Rulz' second milestone of the day. Again he was sixth slammer to achieve … his 700th win. |

Pearls was just way too much for the boys. Not only did she go 3-0, she also had another three in this report. She led the field with THREE skins. She doesn’t always enter skins but something today made her feel good. This was her first time having three in an event (only 8th skin of her career), but second time that she has earned one for hole 7. Scores don’t matter in match play but this former D player had a B score today with only two double bogeys. On our way into the 19th, her name was seen on the big board outside – finished third in a tournament there. Represent us well! |
