Notables

  • BigGuy is the only Slammer in today's field that had a win, a loss, and a draw against everybody in his group prior to today.
  • Reminder to all. The card scorer and the app sorer have to match numbers ... hole by hole per golfer PLEASE. Today the two agreed on the total, but missed on two holes and although the total was good - two holes were wrong and caused a big delay at the Broker4Tickets skins report.
  • I am working on it - but I PREDICT that Macdahustla's numbers are well up there in competing with category leaders. He has to have the MOST events of any Slammer while being in Canada.
  • The Enigma did play - only 1340 days since last event. This is Enigma's 8th season as a Slammer, but you all know the saying 'they come and they go' - well he averages 30 events a year upon his returns. Amazing AND welcome back!
  • Thank you Diddledude for taking care of the QuickSnap doggies today. Macdahustla's doggie on hole 17 (hey Cracker did somebody three-jack) was good enough for him to take over the season lead with his ninth (Nivlac, where are you?)
  • ROOKIES - very few have ever played 40 events in a season. Today's field - all but Big Guy did so in their rookie year, Especially Diddledude who set a record last year with 73.
  • Ash Borer was busy in the off season and there will be views that are clearer now because MANY trees are missing. Of course golfers seldom miss a tree - except when it is a positive POMMIE! ... Agrilus planipennis, commonly known as the emerald ash borer, is a green buprestid or jewel beetle native to northeastern Asia that feeds on ash species.

Quotables

  • "I am off today. Was thinking of joining Metcalfe. You ok with a b division playing with this group?" what a classy guy for asking!
  • "You forgot to take off your jammies!"
  • "I am almost crying!" (first hole birdie!)
  • "This is almost as fun as our date night."
  • and I wish that I didn't leave my scorecard at the course - it had three other quotables written on it!
Event: Metcalfe
Tue Apr 24, 2018
Summary
We are back at one of my favourite courses. The reason it is a fave? The People - even Gaspur. Thank you Emily. Lots of activity throughout the morning as this foursome doubled in size. The starter asks if this our first event of the year and then he hears Cracker get introduced "playing his 19th event of the season!" The course was much drier than expected. Come and see Metcalfe but be prepared to see things that you have never seen before. See the last notable for the why!

Stars
Charlie
WOW, not only did he play well - his pace was vastly improved! He beat all three competitors with his bogey on 14. First he dispatched of BigGuy (avenging their last meeting). Next was Diddledude for the first time, having succumbed both times last season. Next up was #1D - which makes Charlie the new man with a target on his back. That win over Grumpy, is the first in 5 meetings. he played here yesterday and had the exact same scores on ten of the holes. Now go order your hat! 祝贺
Diddledude
Earned points for his two wins and additional points for knocking of #1 in his division. his 2-1 record in his division earns him more points than Steel Crazy's 2-1 vs opponents in lower divisions. His win over BigGuy brings him to 4-2-1, and as he and Grumpy trade turns - they are now at 8-8. mentioned above it was his first loss against Charlie.
Grumpy
IS NOT the star but that smaller events usually mean that there are less stars. With only two groups - usually with little attempt it becomes the two Slammers that went 3-0. Today, however an even rarer bird occurred! two stars from the same group? Both getting those extra starpoints for beating the number one in their division. Also - Macdahustla did get 5 skins but as the only A in the field they earned him no points. Mac's doggie worth one point and Charlie's D division doggie worth two. etc etc etc ... there is no third star today!
