Notables

  • Notable ONE - when this OC is at an event - he does introductions (something that he thought was mandatory from the good OLD days!). Well one of the things that happens is the OC goes in the second last group unless someone in his/her group is Doggie Master (always last group). So ... the last group was not introduced - their introductions are the first four quotables below.
  • Speaking of Doggie Master - what a great job that Spud did! He knew that he had to be there early to collect the bones. He also knew that it was a work day and that he would be late. He recruited an assistant to do the collecting. THANK YOU!
  • Notable MILESTONE - Green Arrow beat Bookie 4and2 for his 100th victory on Tour. It happened in his 180th match in his 64th event!
  • Notable TWO belongs to Nolanator. I golfed with him. He putted for birdie on all of the first eight holes. the only birdie that he made was on four (where he missed his eagle putt). When he 'blew up' on hole nine, I stopped counting. He did get two more birdies and despite another 'blow up' on 15 (see last quotable - I may have found one) did actually putt for a total of 13 birdies today.
  • What a difference a skin entry makes1 Today seven skins were worth 8 bones and the kidZ got 4. One non-entry difference could have made it 6@10 (5 kidZ). The other two made no difference. I REMIND all that it is the Slammer's option to not enter.
  • Notable THREE - results of the first four quotables - Mac shot 10 better and one more win than last time. Once again Chilly stayed below his highest round here. ShelGame scored the same range for the 10th time and DIDN'T get the eagle. Spud protected the target.

Quotables

  • "First off the tee is MacDahustla. Our most international Slammer is the 2017 rookie of the year. Check his occupation on the profile page! Go there and see how much of a MUST read it is. This is only his second event at Gatineau and he sure would like to forget the first."
  • "Next up and also from T6 is Chilly. He is the second Slammer in this group to be introduced that provides so many of our quotables. Today is a practise round for this Commish Cup ex Champion Captain, as he gets ready to help his Team Central win their fourth and be the first team to do so!"
  • "Moving to T5, here is ShelGame. This team Quebec member has been here nine times and all of his games have been between 84-88. I predict that he will get his first Slammer Tour eagle today on hole 17!"
  • "Next up, with the target on his back is A9. He is hot! He was the second star yesterday winning his MPC match and firing three birdies. He worked today and just got off a conference call 28 minutes ago."
  • "I think that you hit every fairway Anika!"
  • "I think that she wants it in!"
  • The last quotable of the day belongs to today's youngest Slammer who may appear cocky to some but I judge it as him just being confident, there is no malice. "Weakness? you tell me after you play with me if I have one."
Event: Gatineau

Summary
Hello Slammerdom! When were you last at Gatineau?. Today is only my second regular event there since 2012. At that last event I talked about good food (it was the day that they got their license!). Slammers go there AGAIN and go early and / or stay late. Why? This may be one of the best kitchens on Tour. I know that it is quite an accomplishment and will be asking chip-me-in for his review. Next events are July 29 and August 5. BE THERE!

Righteous (r)
This Gatineau member excelled! He was introduced as being a member that collected the maximum 4 points in the recent intersectional. His performance was so worthy of first star mention that the Team Quebec contingent were diligently explaining the CommCup to him on the 19th! Apparently inskied now. He only had one doggie but had two other doggie balls returned to him. He and second star Pipeline left five for five doggies. Two guys in the group behind were very happy to return 80% of their balls.
Pipeline
He arrived 12 hours early because of a 2:04 am typo. He was well rested and threw darts. Although both his dogs were cut off, his putting was strong enough to get birdies on both those holes from a further distance than the dog winners. His two wins were both against fellow B players (6 pts), a point for each birdie and his two skins earned him an additional point. his last point was for his A division score.
Grumpy
Every OC hates to do so and this one is no exception! I checked very carefully the starpoints system and looked for an anomaly to find an error (there was none) I even considered doing what Mulder did last Sunday and awarding the spot to the Slammer that finished in fourth place. So two dogs and a B score were worth nine points and the bronze. Why didn't I award to 4th place person? THAT was Chilly and I have always said "I love to cut him off!"
